QA Engineer
Responsibilites:
-
Prioritize and execute functional, compatibility, and performance tests
-
Work closely with engineers to ensure testable solutions
-
Write test scripts to automate testing
-
Assist tech support with customers issues as needed
-
Deploy and monitor Abaca's product on qa and/or staging environments
-
Work with documentation staff on installation guides
Qualifications:
-
5+ years industry experience as a QA engineer
-
3+ years testing servers
-
2+ years white-box testing, Python knowledge is highly desirable
-
Unix system admin experience including shell scripting
-
Networking knowledge including TCP/IP and HTTP
-
Understanding of SMTP, IMAP and LDAP
-
Experience testing web-based applications
-
Ability to read and understand log files
-
Must understand software development release lifecycle, source management
-
Must be able to demonstrate a well written/communicated bug report
-
Ability to work with little supervision in a fast-paced environment
-
Ability to handle many different projects and activities
-
A self-starter

Demonstrate ability to complete highly detailed tasks with strict attention to quality, completeness and timeliness

Excellent oral and written communication skills
-
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
Pluses:
- Experience with Subversion, Xen, VMWare, Debian Linux
- Experience with Automation tools such as Buildbot, Twill
- Experience with Test Repository and Bug Tracking systems such as Testlink
and Trac
