I
am an entrepreneur who has started and run five high tech companies with
a combined market capitalization of over $2 billion. I never hid my email
address, and over time, I was receiving lots of spam. I tried the leading
anti-spam products at the time, but the performance was unsatisfactory;
not enough spam was blocked while too many legitimate emails were tagged
as spam. I was determined to come up with a better approach. In fact, I
decided to create the ultimate spam deterrenta filter that would never
make a mistake.
It ended up being a lot harder than I first thought. I spent two years inventing over 30 different approaches to the problem until I came up with an idea that worked exceptionally well. My mathematical models showed that no matter what spammers would do to defeat the filter, it would make fewer and fewer errors over time, so that, given enough users and time, it would approach perfection.
I hired a few engineers to code the algorithm and it worked extremely well on day one. We decided to productize and market it. But when we tried to get funding, the venture capitalists told us "the space is too crowded." We disagree. The market is crowded, but with products that do not work very well. When email users get over 100 spams a day and want less than one (and ideally none) to pass through to their inboxes, there was no product available that reliably achieved that. Our product is at least 10 times more accurate than anything else available. And, unlike other products that judge their success by their own standards, our products effectiveness for identifying and blocking spam is based on the email recipients criteria and satisfaction.
As expected, our initial customers were also achieving 99% or better spam filtering. When we saw their satisfaction, I decided to fund Abaca myself.
To set us apart from "the crowd," Abaca guarantees its results our Email Protection Gateway is at least 99% accurate or they do not pay when we fail to meet this level of effectiveness. No other vendor stands behind its product performance and customer satisfaction like Abaca does.
If you hate spam as much as I do, I hope you will give our product a try. It is designed for small and medium-sized businesses. It is a "gateway appliance" that is deployed in front of whatever mail server you use.
Our customers love us. Steve Taffee at Castilleja School, one of the top private schools in California, wrote:
"Wow! What a fantastic product! After trying several other solutions, we finally solved the problem when we installed the Abaca Email Protection Gateway. Its next-generation anti-spam filter solved the spam and phish problem for us - once and for all! It's consistently filtering at rates above 99.9% and I haven't touched it since it was installed."
